Since the Ben Lomond charges $400 + $2.50/plate (which doesn’t include any food), my parents have suggested an alternate venue for the post-ceremony reception/luncheon for wedding guests. Their first choice is Bistro258, which I haven’t checked out, but the website looks acceptable (aside from the somewhat ghetto font on the logo, but that’s the typography snob in me talking).

So the plan is the Sunlit room at the Ben Lomond for the ceremony and a trip down historic 25th street in Ogden to the reception location on Saturday, September 10, 2011.

There will also be a celebratory bash for everyone either the night before (Friday the 9th) or the Saturday before or after the ceremony. This will be like a typical Utah reception, but I’m not calling it a reception. I’m calling it a bash. A celebratory bash!

It is the Ben Lomond Hotel in Ogden. We’re thinking the Sunlit room for the ceremony because of the awesome view:

The 1920s (my sister calls it  ”Great Gatsby”) ambiance is really exciting for me. I’m thinking that my tentative wedding colors are going to be black, white, and gray. Classy.
